paris fashion week - a.f. vandevorst

LOVE, love, love this collection. I love girly menswear (oxymoron, I know) and the red lips are just icing on the cake.

I'm also, kind of obsessed with grey, so this collection is perfection for me.

polyvore...

So, I'm testing this out. Its called polyvore and you can make 'sets.' It is kind of fun, but I'm not sure how it works in coordination with a blog. We are about to find out...

Yay it worked!
It isn't exactly what I bought today, but, like I said, I was just playing around. Maybe I will have more of these!

shopping night!

After a long day of speech listening and interviewing, Heather and I went shopping. Victoria's Secret had a sale. We made a stop at Bath and Body Works. Then we spent way too much money at Forever 21. We even made a stop at Maggie Moo's and had ice cream to add to our horrible diets of the day.

These were my lovely buys. A new pair of black leggings because mine were getting a whole. The shirt I bought is actually white and goes really well under the navy sweater. And when I add my knotted string of pearls I look so preppy! :)

green feet

www.greenfeet.com

This Web site has a bunch of different eco-friendly items. The apparel is limited from what I've seen, but the selection of pillows is much larger than  your local department store. They have buckwheat pillows, latex pillows, maternity pillows, and even your run-of-the-mill organic cotton pillows.

election videos

This is the SNL clip of Tina Fey as Sarah Palin and Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton. Hilarious!

This is one of Obama...even better. :)

london fashion week - charles anastase

I love the girly looks he has. The big platforms with socks is cute. And all the garters are so fun.

Anastase actually started out as an artist in the early 2000s, according to his Web site. It took a few years before he actually got into making clothes. His first show was based on Alice in Wonderland. I believe that has carried over some into this year's collection as well.

first fashion drawing

This is my first complete drawing for my apparel class. I didn't use real rendering markers, but my colored pencils don't look to bad.

I am actually going to attempt to make the vest, with help from my lovely mom, from a white T-shirt. It is for one of my projects. Not entirely sure how it will turn out. But I will show pictures. :)

how to be a muse...

I want to be a fashion muse...

Or maybe I want to be the person that writes about them. :) Either way, this is a great article about 'how to become a fashion muse.' Very entertaining. It even reveals (what could be) a rivalry between Chanel and Dior...hmm...

olympus fashion week 9.10.08

MaxAzria is one of my favorite designers, along with Diane von Furstenburg. I love how everything is simple and pretty. And the colors are great. In the fall there were all the light ivories, tans, camels, and browns. For spring there are steel blues and greys, some blacks and a few silvery whites. Everything always blends together so nicely. This is probably my favorite piece from his show today.

Also showing today was Betsey Johnson. All the color. All the time. She had a lot of inspiration from late 1800s and early 1900s which is my favorite time period. The fitted corsets and big, full, trains. The show was too much fun!

And apparently I love blue!

east coast swing

I went to my first swing dancing lesson tonight. So much fun! I learned the East Coast Swing. Due to the lack of males, I learned how to lead, which is quite fun. I got to twirl my friend around all night. :) Then this guy asked me to dance and he lead. So I had to switch my feet and it was harder then you would think. But he was really good and had me spinning. :) I recommend it to anyone! It is great. I'm going to teach some of my guy friends, so they can dance with me.

nyc fashion week - diane von furstenburg

I was just looking through the runway shows for this week and I love Diane von Furstenburg anyway, but these pieces were so great. :)

I love little white dresses for spring. Almost as much as I love brown and purple dresses for fall. :)
